Cajuns Add Baseball America Preseason Top 25 Ranking

LAFAYETTE, La. – With the start of the 2016 season only 25 days away, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team added to its preseason honors as the squad was tabbed 13th in the Baseball America Preseason Top 25 rankings, the publication announced on Monday.

The Cajuns are also ranked No. 6 in the Collegiate Baseball preseason rankings and 18th in the D1Baseball Preseason poll. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and USA Today coaches preseason rankings have yet to be released.

Stefan Trosclair also added to his list of accolades on Monday as he was named to the D1Baseball Preseason All-America Third Team. The senior infielder has also be named a Louisville Slugger Preseason First Team All-American and Perfect Game Third Team All-American.

Louisiana opens the 2016 slate at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field as the Cajuns host Sam Houston State in a three-game series.

Season tickets are still available in the first and third base bleachers, and with the removal of light poles in the bleacher sections, fans will have better sightlines to watch games.
