Men's Tennis Comes Up Short at UTSA

SAN ANTONIO, Texas --
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team fell by a 4-2 final to the UTSA Roadrunners on Friday afternoon.

UTSA won the doubles points, taking two of the three matches. The UTSA duo of Fabian Brand and Diogo Casa defeated Arthur Libaud and Wil Huyton, 6-2. 

The Cajuns (2-2) came back to win the second doubles behind Edgar Lopez and Eric Perez. The duo defeated Eric Buckhalter and Mark Ginting, 6-3

The final doubles match was taken by UTSA's Christian Carrillo and Jake Rother, who defeated Vlad Kramarov and Coleman Wahlborg, 6-3. 

In No. 1 singles, Casa topped Libaud in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, but UL came back to tie singles 1-1 when Kramarov defeated Buckhalter, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). 

Huyton won No. 4 singles over Ginting, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, (8-6). 

Takeru Watanabe won No. 5 singles over Eric Perez, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5, while Carrillo defeated Wahlborg, 6-7, (5-7), 6-4, 6-4 to give the UTSA Roadrunners the victory.

The Cajuns will return to action this Sunday, Jan. 31 for an 11 a.m. match at Incarnate Word.
