PRINCEVILLE, Hawaii – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns freshman golfer Aron Juliusson posted a career-low round on Monday at the second round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational with a round of 5-under par (67) to move up 18 spots into a tie for 11th at the par-72, 7,223-yard Princeville Makai Golf Club.

"Really proud of the effort and determination of Aron and Fernando (Cruz Valle)," head coach Theo Sliman said. "It was good to see Aron post the low round of his young career as a Ragin' Cajuns golfer. He's only getting better each time out on the course. Both he and Fern were able to come out and play near bogey-free golf and keep this team in contention for a top 5 finish."

Juliusson opened the round with four birdies in the first seven holes and added two more birdies with a bogey to close out the round and finish the day with a 36-hole score of 4-under (140).

Cruz Valle also made a move into the top 25 with a round of 70 (-2) to climb up five spots into a tie for 24th at 1-under (142). Like Juliusson, Cruz Valle also had just one blemish on the card during the second round.

As a team, the Ragin' Cajuns recorded a round of 5-over par (293) to drop into tenth place with a two-round score of 4-over (580).

No. 25 Ole Miss continues to lead the event with a score of 23-under (553) after carding a second round score of 12-under (276). No. 24 Missouri (-10, 566), Sam Houston State (-10, 566), No. 22 Arizona State (-4, 572) and Louisville (-2, 574) round out the top 5 teams.

Missouri's Hayden Buckley used a round of 68 (-4) to move into the individual lead with a 36-hole score of 10-under (134).

Triston Elston sits in a tie for 37th at 2-over (146), while Ragnar Gardarsson is tied for 75th with a score of 8-over (152). Freshman Jack Tolson rounds out the scoring for Louisiana in a tie for 89th at 13-over (157).

The Cajuns are paired with San Francisco, Pepperdine and Princeton for the final round. Play gets underway at 1 p.m. CT with a shotgun start. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.

"Its disappointing to see this group go out and back up a strong first round with a not so great second round," Sliman said. "We need to be able to string together a couple great rounds as a team and capitalize on great performances like we had today. It takes a complete team effort to have a good showing in tournaments like this. I felt that the guys were really pressing today to make a move instead of continue to do what worked in the first round. Hopefully we can learn from that and go out tomorrow and close out the fall season on a strong note."
