Ragin' Cajuns host Vandals in 71st annual Homecoming game
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football returns to Sun Belt Conference action after a two-week layoff when it faces Idaho in the 71st annual Homecoming game on Saturday (Nov. 5) at Cajun Field.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. and the game will be available on ESPN3. The game will also be broadcast across the state on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Radio Network, including KPEL 1420 AM and KHXT 107.9 FM in the Lafayette area.

At halftime, senior Courtney Bergeron will be crowned as the 2016 Homecoming queen while Melissa Coronado Abner, former U.S. Senator John Breaux, B.J. Ryan, and the late Beryl Shipley will be inducted into the UL Athletics Hall of Fame.

Louisiana (3-4, 2-2 SBC) opened the second half of the regular-season with a 27-3 win at Texas State on Oct. 22 with Elijah McGuire rushing for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns. McGuire, who passed former Ragin' Cajuns great Tyrell Fenroy as the school's leader in career points scored (300), enters Saturday's game against Idaho (4-4, 2-2 SBC) tied with Fenroy for the school-record in total touchdowns (49).

• The teams last played on Oct. 1, 2004 with Idaho claiming a 38-25 victory at the Kibbie Dome.

• Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns football team spotted Idaho a 21-point lead it could not dig itself out of in a 38-25 loss here Saturday afternoon at the Kibbie Dome.
• Idaho had a 21-0 lead just five seconds into the second quarter. The Cajuns defense, which surrendered 122 yards and seven first downs in the first quarter, made stop after stop from that point on as the team attempted to make a comeback.
• The offense, which only had 30 yards in the opening frame, began churning up yardage as UL Lafayette slowly crept back in the game closing to 24-19 on a 39-yard pass from Jerry Babb to Kemmie Lewis with 12:34 remaining in the game.

YOUTH MOVEMENT FOR THE CAJUNS
• A total of 33 new players have made at least one appearance for the Ragin' Cajuns during the 2016 season.
• Along with the 22 players who made their debut against Boise State, 11 additional players have seen action since opening day:
