Thank you to everyone who submitted questions using the online form. I look forward to answering as many questions as possible each month.
Â
Tigue Update
Similar to last month, a few fans were curious about the progress of the construction at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
Â
Since October's edition of "Ask the AD", a substantial amount of progress has been made: the concrete foundation has been poured for half of the stadium and steel beams have started going up. These are two key milestones because once both the concrete and steel are completed, there will be significantly less of a possibility for unforeseen delays. Therefore, a more accurate date for the opening of the park can be established.
Â
Now that much of the foundation is complete, progress from this point forward will be more visible. Fans can view using the RaginCajuns.com Construction Cam.

Golf Indoor Teaching Facility and Athletics Facilities Master Plan Update
While on the subject of facilities, last month we announced a partnership with Oakbourne Country Club and broke ground on a new Golf Indoor Teaching Facility. This facility will feature a team locker room, coaches' offices and a state of the art indoor teaching facility to allow our student-athletes to practice regardless of the weather conditions. Construction will start in the next few weeks and is anticipated to be complete this spring.
Â
I would like to thank everyone behind the scenes that made this possible - especially to Brad Mosing for providing the lead gift that was then matched by his father Don. Everyone involved gave their time, resources and expertise to better our golf student-athletes for years to come.
Â
In 2013, the Facilities Master Plan was unveiled by the Athletics Department. It consisted of 11 projects placed into 3 tiers. Tier I was our top priority and all 3 projects within Tier I are now complete. Those projects include the Student-Athlete Performance Center, Soccer/Track Complex and the South End Zone of Cajun Field.
Â
Tier II has already begun with the current renovation of Tigue Moore Field. The golf teaching facility was originally a Tier III project, but as we told our coaches and the public back in 2013, as funds were identified for a particular project, that project would be moved up immediately. Another project that is expected to move from Tier III to Tier II is the Student-Athlete Academic Center.
Â
The thing that I am most proud of as the Director of Athletics is that we are in the greatest era of athletic performance in our University's history while also winning championships in the classroom. "Academic Integrity" is one of our core values and we have led the SBC and public schools in the state of Louisiana in graduation rates each of the last three years
We do not know an exact start date for the Student-Athlete Academic Center renovations, but will continue to update you as that information becomes available.
Â
Once baseball, golf and the academic center construction is completed, six of the eleven projects within the Athletics Facilities Master Plan will be complete – in just four years since the plan was unveiled.

Flood Relief for Coastal Carolina
Â
Several weeks ago, Hurricane Matthew ravaged the east coast causing massive damage and flooding. The area of Conway, South Carolina, experienced catastrophic flooding that has just started to recede in several areas. Conway is home to our newest Sun Belt Conference member Coastal Carolina. Their Athletics Department graciously donated supplies and monetary donations during our recent time of need after the recent historic flooding in South Louisiana, even flying student-athletes to Louisiana to unload their 18-wheeler.
Â
It is now our turn to support our fellow conference member. In an effort to raise funds to send to Coastal Carolina, our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has organized a jambalaya plate lunch sale which will take place this Friday, November 4th. The details are below, and I encourage everyone to support this initiative and spread the word to your family and friends. Thank you for your support.
