Cajuns Set To Face No. 1 Notre Dame In Houston

Houston – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team faces No. 1 Notre Dame on Tuesday at the Campbell Center in Houston, Texas.

Louisiana (1-0) returns to the court after a 78-52 exhibition win over Dillard (La.) on Saturday. The Ragin' Cajuns defeated McNeese, 77-70 in the season opener on Nov. 12.
Louisiana is led in scoring by junior forward Simone Fields (28 ppg) while senior guard Jaylyn Gordon is averaging 26 points per game. Junior guard Jodi Quinn (7 ppg), junior guard Troi Swain (6 ppg) and freshman guard Jasmine Thomas (5 ppg) all have seen significant playing time for the Cajuns.
Notre Dame (4-0) is fresh off a Preseason WNIT Championship win over No. 17 Washington, 71-60 on Sunday. The Fighting Irish previously defeated Central Michigan, 107-47, Fordham, 67-36, and Green Bay, 71-67 on its way to the WNIT crown.
The game in Houston is a Homecoming game for Notre Dame junior forward Brianna Turner. A native of nearby Pearland, Texas, Turner was named the Gatorade National High School Female Athlete of the Year in 2014 at Manvel High School.
