Cajuns seek first road win of the season against CAA Dukes

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team makes a quick turnaround from Monday's win over Delaware State as they hit the road to face Colonial Athletic Association member James Madison on Wednesday at the JMU Convocation Center.
 
Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. CST. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM, ESPN 1420 AM and worldwide courtesy of Radio Pup.
 
Louisiana (2-2) evened its record with an 83-82 win over Delaware State on Monday as Frank Bartley and Bryce Washington combined for 45 points. Freshman P.J. Hardy scored a season-high 12 points off the bench while Jay Wright added 10 points as the Ragin' Cajuns used a 15-6 run over the final 4:43 of the first half to overcome a 30-27 deficit and build a 42-36 lead at halftime.
 
Bartley and Washington average a team-best 17.0 points per game for Louisiana, which is second in the Sun Belt Conference in scoring (89.2). Freshman Justin Miller averages 11.3 points for the Ragin' Cajuns with Wright (9.5), Johnathan Stove (6.0) and Hardy (6.0) next in the scoring column.
 
Washington, who has recorded three of his career six double-doubles this season, is the top rebounder in the SBC averaging 11.3 per game.
 
James Madison (0-4) dropped a 67-56 decision to Texas Southern on Monday as the Dukes trimmed a 13-point, first-half deficit to four late in the second half. Yohanny Dalembert scored 10 points to lead JMU with Jackson Kent adding nine.
 
Joey McLean leads JMU in scoring, averaging 13.0 points per game with Shakir Brown (11.8) next in the scoring column. Kent paces the Dukes with 5.3 rebounds per game with Ramone Snowden averaging a team-high 1.8 assists.
 
Louisiana will return home on Sunday, Nov. 27 to face Texas Southern in the final regular-season contest of the season at Blackham Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns will move back into the newly-refurbished Cajundome on Dec. 1 when it hosts in-state opponent Nicholls State in the nightcap of a men's-women's doubleheader at 7:15 p.m.
