Cajuns To Play SE Missouri In USM Thanksgiving Classic

Hattiesburg, Miss. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team faces Southeast Missouri State on Friday in the Lady Eagle Classic at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Louisiana (1-1) returns to the court after falling to No. 1 Notre Dame, 91-51 in Houston, Texas on Tuesday night. The Ragin' Cajuns defeated McNeese, 77-70 in the season opener on Nov. 12.
Southeast Missouri State (2-3) is coming off a 76-74 win over Evansville on Sunday. This is the first ever meeting between the Cajuns and the Redhawks.
Louisiana is led in scoring by senior guard Jaylyn Gordon with 21 points per game while junior forward Simone Fields is averaging 18 ppg.
Freshman guard Jasmine Thomas (10 ppg), junior guard Jodi Quinn (6 ppg) and junior guard Troi Swain (3 ppg) all have seen significant playing time for the Cajuns.
Southeast Missouri redshirt-senior Olivia Hackmann leads the Redhawks with 18.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game this season.
Sophomore guard Adrianna Murphy currently leads the country with 44 assists this season. Her 8.8 assists per game ranks fourth in the nation. Senior guard Bri Mitchell's 30 assists ranks eighth nationally. As a team, the Redhawks rank eighth in the nation with 95 assists.
Louisiana will play either tournament host Southern Miss (3-1) or Alcorn State (0-3) in the second round on Saturday. The championship game is set for 4 p.m. while the consolation game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
