Cajuns Set To Face SUNO On Saturday

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Saturday when it hosts Southern-New Orleans.
Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. at the Cajundome. Live video and live statistics are available at RaginCajuns.com with the game being broadcast in the Lafayette area on ESPN 1420 AM and worldwide courtesy of Radio Pup.
Louisiana (3-2), which is coming off a 74-55 win over Xavier (La.), is led in scoring by senior guard Jaylyn Gordon (19.6 ppg). Gordon leads the Sun Belt Conference in both points per game and three-point field goals made per game (3).
Junior forward Simone Fields is third in the league in total rebounds per game (9.4) and fourth in scoring (16.4 ppg). Freshman guard Jasmine Thomas is averaging 9.4 points per game while senior forward Gabby Alexander (6.4 ppg) and junior guard Jodi Quinn (6.0 ppg) all have seen significant playing time for the Cajuns.
Southern-New Orleans (2-5) is coming off a 69-68 defeat at St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. SUNO fell to McNeese on Nov. 14, 94-65, just two days after the Cajuns opened up the season with a 77-70 win over the Cowgirls.
Louisiana will return to action on Wednesday, December 14 when it hosts Houston in the Third Annual Education game in an 11 a.m. contest at the Cajundome.
