The Cajuns and Red Raiders have met before at the Houston College Classic in 2002 with the Ragin' Cajuns claiming a 4-3 decision in the season opener.

Rice holds a 17-8 lead in the all-time series with Louisiana. The Cajuns got the upper hand a year ago, winning both games against the Owls at the Houston Regional including a 5-2 victory in the championship game.

As a team, the Ragin' Cajuns are hitting .299 with seven triples and three home runs. Junior Brenn Conrad leads the squad with a .636 average posting a hit in all four games this season. Both Conrad and senior outfielder Kyle Clement have a team-high four RBI.
