MOBILE, Ala. – Ken Williams scored 16 of his team-high 25 points in the second half and South Alabama shot a blistering 67 percent in the final 20 minutes to earn an 83-70 win over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in a Sun Belt Conference basketball game on Saturday at the Mitchell Center.

Nick Stover and Shaq Calhoun came off the bench to score 13 and 11 points respectively as South Alabama (13-16, 8-10 SBC) erased a 32-26 halftime deficit by shooting 22-for-33 (66.7 percent) from the floor in the second half and 6-for-8 from behind the 3-point line.

The Jaguars used an 18-2 run midway through the second half after Louisiana (15-12, 11-7 SBC) took a 42-40 lead on a bucket by Bryce Washington with 12:58 remaining. Calhoun, who finished 5-for-6 from the floor, tied the game with a layup on the Jaguars' ensuing possession before Don MuepoKelly hit a jumper to give USA the lead for good.

Calhoun added a 3-pointer and MuepoKelly sank a pair of free throws for a 49-42 lead, and after Shawn Long scored on a dunk for Louisiana, the Jaguars scored the next nine points to push their lead to 58-44 with 8:22 remaining.

Louisiana trailed 9-2 early in the game before it chipped away at the deficit and took its first lead of the game – 21-20 – on Johnathan Stove's bucket with 5:56 left in the first half. The Ragin' Cajuns built a 28-22 lead when Washington tipped in a missed jumper by Steven Wronkoski, and led 32-26 when Devonta Walker sank a pair of free throws with 1:00 remaining in the first half.

Long scored a team-high 25 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to record his 21st double-double of the season and the 73rd of his career, moving him past Bill Walton (UCLA) and Don May (Dayton) into sole possession of 14th place in NCAA history.
