No. 5 Louisiana and South Alabama will complete series with 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday
LAFAYETTE – Numerous rain showers throughout the day on Saturday resulted in unfavorable field conditions which canceled games on the opening day of the No. 5-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team's Sun Belt Conference-opening series with South Alabama at Lamson Park.
The No. 5 Ragin' Cajuns (17-1) and Jaguars (10-8) will now play at 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday to complete the series. Steve Peloquin and Bobby Neveaux will call the action on SportsRadio ESPN 1420-AM and a live web stream will be available for purchase on RaginCajuns.com.
Louisiana and South Alabama were originally scheduled to play a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, which was later reduced to a 6:30 p.m. single game prior to the cancellation of Saturday's action.
Individual game tickets that were purchased for Saturday's games will be refunded at the point of purchase of tickets for Sunday's games at the Lamson Park ticket booth, or at origin of purchase (Cajundome Box Office, TicketMaster outlet or TicketMaster.com).
The Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Department is offering a "Daddy-Daughter Day" promotion for Sunday's doubleheader. Dads and daughters can purchase a $4 general admission ticket for an outfield seat. They will receive a voucher for free popcorn, courtesy of Sodexo, and have the opportunity to play catch on the field following the conclusion of the second game.
