LAFAYETTE, La. – The 16th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to open the Sun Belt Conference home slate this weekend as the Cajuns host Little Rock in a three-game series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field starting Friday at 6 p.m.

First pitch of game two is slated for Saturday at 2 p.m., while the series finale will get underway at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Friday's contest will be broadcast on myAcadianaTV and ESPN3.com with Dave Schultz calling the action and Mike Mitchell adding color.

All three games of the series will be broadcast live on News Talk 96.5 KPEL-FM with Jay Walker making the call. Live stats and video are available on RaginCajuns.com.

The Cajuns (11-6, 2-1 Sun Belt) have won three of their last four contests including a 10-1 victory at Northwestern State in the midweek. Louisiana has won all three of its series on the year and is a perfect 7-0 at The Tigue thus far.

The Ragin' Cajuns will see sophomore left-hander Gunner Leger take the mound on Friday night for the fifth straight weekend. Leger is 1-1 on the season with a 1.52 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 23.2 innings.

Sophomore right-hander Wyatt Marks (2-1, 3.37 ERA) is slated to make the start in game two on Saturday, while freshman right-hander Nick Lee will look to improve upon his 3-0 record on Sunday. Lee has two quality starts on the season and is limiting opponents to a .171 average at the plate.

Offensively, Louisiana is hitting .285 with 27 doubles, six triples and nine home runs. Joe Robbins continues to pace the team hitting .393 with nine extra base hits and nine RBI. Senior Derek Herrington has come on offensively since Kyle Clement went down with an injury as he is hitting .348 with four RBI.

Senior Brian Mills is coming off of a team-best 4 RBI game at Northwestern State. Mills has a hit in five straight games and has driven in six runs in the last two games.

The Cajuns hold a 51-18 advantage over Little Rock in spite of falling to the Trojans in a pair of walk-offs last year. The Ragin' Cajuns are 24-5 against Little Rock at The Tigue and have won 12 straight at home against the Trojans.

Little Rock (6-10, 0-3 Sun Belt) has lost six of its last eight contests despite winning against Central Arkansas 6-5 in the midweek. The Trojans were swept by South Alabama in their Sun Belt Conference opening series. The series with the Jaguars was moved to Mobile, Ala. due to field conditions and weather in Little Rock last weekend.

The Trojans rank 10th in the Sun Belt in ERA (5.84) with opponents averaging 6.8 runs per game against them. Left-hander Dylan Slayton (0-0, 2.84 ERA) will make the start on Friday night for Little Rock. Slayton is making his first start of the year after making six appearances in relief this season.

Little Rock will close out the weekend with a pair of right-handers on the mound. Cory Malcom (0-3, 16.39 ERA) will make the start on Saturday, while Joe Corbett (2-0, 5.00 ERA) takes the bump in the series finale.

Ryan Scott leads the nation hitting .492 with four doubles, two triples, five home runs and 18 RBI. Scott is slugging .857 with a .562 on base percentage.

As a team, the Trojans are hitting .290 with 31 doubles, two triples and seven home runs. Little Rock is averaging 5.9 runs per game with 90 RBI on the year.

Individual game tickets for the Little Rock series are available on Ticketmaster.com. Fans who are unable to attend the series are encouraged to return their tickets that will not be used to the Cajundome Box Office or by emailing ULTickets@Cajundome.com.

Following the series with the Trojans, the Cajuns will go on the road Tuesday at 7 p.m. to face No. 7 LSU in the Wally Pontiff Classic at Zephyr Field in Metairie, La.
