UL student-athletes visiting schools to promote reading, leadership and athletics

LAFAYETTE - University of Louisiana at Lafayette student-athletes from all sports will be participating in a bus tour to promote literacy and give back to local elementary schools on March 21-24, 2016. Student-athletes will be visiting 11 elementary schools throughout the Acadiana area.

Schools being visited this semester include: Ascension Episcopal School, Cathedral Carmel School, S.J. Montgomery Elementary, St. Genevieve Catholic School, Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School, J. Wallace James Elementary, Woodvale Elementary, Plantation Elementary, St. Pius Elementary, Our Lady of Fatima School, and Prairie Elementary School.

Student-athletes hope that the tour will spark greater interest in reading, leadership and athletics, encouraging elementary students to develop a well-balanced lifestyle that includes equal emphasis on academics and physical activity.
