Women's Tennis Hosts ULM Thursday

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team will play the first of two conference home matches this week on Thursday, March 24 against the ULM Warhawks.

First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. at Cajun Courts. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Cajuns come into this week with a record of 8-7, and are winners of two of their past three matches.

Senior Melissa Burckhartt, junior Alexandra Way and sophomore Kelly Drew are in a three-way tie for the team lead with seven wins in singles play.

In doubles, the Cajuns have a team record of 21-11. Way and sophomore Abby Johnson have teamed up for a 7-5 record and are winners are their past two matches. Senior Juliette Clement and sophomore Elena Sava are 7-5 as a tandem and have also won their past two outings.

ULM comes into Thursday with a record of 9-2 this season. The Warhawks are a combined 45-16 in singles, led by Luana Stanciu, who is a perfect 10-0 in singles play, while Tiffany Mylonas is 9-2. In doubles, Stanciu and Mylonas are 8-1 as a duo and have won their past eight matches.
