Women's Tennis Continues Weekend vs. No. 50 UT Arlington

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team returns to Cajun Courts this Saturday, March 26 against No. 50 UT Arlington. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m.

The Cajuns (8-8) look to bounce back from a close 4-2 loss vs. ULM on Thursday.

Senior Melissa Burckhartt, junior Alexandra Way and sophomore Kelly Drew all enter Saturday with seven wins in singles play, tied for the team lead.

The Cajuns bring a strong 23-11 doubles record into the UTA match. Senior Juliette Clement and sophomore Elena Sava have teamed up for an 8-3 record, the best on the squad and have won their past three matches. Burckhartt and Drew are 7-3, while Way and sophomore Abby Johnson own a 7-5 mark.

UT Arlington defeated Arkansas State on Thursday, 4-0 and are 10-2 this spring. They are 41-18 in singles and are led by Angeles de los Rios who is a perfect 9-0 in singles. Agustina Serio is right behind de los Rios with eight wins in nine matches.

The Mavericks are 22-9 in doubles play this season. Serio and Valeria Lopez have yet to be defeated this season, coming into Saturday with a 7-0 record.
