LAFAYETTE, La. – The 22nd-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to open a five-game week with midweek games against in-state foes Tulane and New Orleans starting Tuesday at 6 p.m. against the Green Wave at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
 
The Cajuns will head to New Orleans, La. on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. contest against the Privateers at Maestri Field.

The Ragin' Cajuns (21-11, 10-5 Sun Belt) are coming off of a series win at Georgia Southern. Louisiana pulled out a 6-2 victory in 10 innings to open the series. After falling 3-2 to even the series, the Cajuns rallied to claim the series with a 13-9 victory on Sunday.
 
Louisiana has won nine of its last 11 contests and returned to the top 25 coming in at No. 22 in the NCBWA rankings.
 
Sophomore right-hander Evan Guillory will make his second start of the season at The Tigue against the Green Wave. Guillory is coming off of a complete game one-hit shutout in a 4-0 against Northwestern State last Tuesday. On the season, Guillory is 2-3 with a 3.05 ERA and three quality starts in seven starts.            
 
Guillory was named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball for his performance against the Demons. He was also tabbed the Pitcher of the Week by the Sun Belt and Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA).
 
The Ragin' Cajuns have not named a starter for the Wednesday night showdown with the Privateers.
 
Offensively, Louisiana is hitting .268 with 52 doubles, six triples and 23 home runs. Senior Brian Mills is coming off of a six RBI game at Georgia Southern blasting two home runs including a grand slam. Mills paced the squad with 21 RBI on the season. Kyle Clement has a team-best .379 average with nine RBI.
 
The Cajuns hold a 45-43 all-time edge in the series with Tulane after dropping a 5-3 decision in New Orleans earlier this season. Louisiana routed the Green Wave 16-0 in the last meeting at The Tigue on April 1, 2014.
 
Louisiana holds an 81-68 edge in the all-time series against New Orleans. The Privateers snapped a nine-game win streak in 2014, but the Ragin' Cajuns rebounded with two straight wins including a 7-4 victory this season at The Tigue.
 
Tulane (21-10, 3-2 American) is coming off of a series win over East Carolina taking the first two games against the Pirates 5-2 and 3-0. The Green Wave dropped the series finale 7-3.
 
Sophomore right-hander J.P. France will make the start for Tulane on Tuesday. France is 2-0 on the year with a 3.45 ERA in 10 appearances including five starts.
 
The Green Wave are hitting .274 as a team with 54 doubles, 10 triples and 32 home runs. Stephen Alemais has a team-best .354 average with six doubles, one triple, one home run and 15 RBI. Hunter Hope has eight home runs on the season with 21 RBI.
 
New Orleans (18-14, 4-8 Southland) was swept for the second time this year in their series against McNeese State this past weekend. The Privateers entered the series with a 15-1 record at Maestri Field before dropping three straight-games to the Cowboys.
 
UNO has lost its last five contest coming into the matchup with the Cajuns. New Orleans has yet to name a starter for the contest.
 
The Privateers are batting .300 with 44 doubles, 17 triples and 19 home runs. Dakota Dean, the younger brother of UNO head coach Blake Dean, paces the squad with a .362 average, six doubles, three triples, four home runs and 31 RBI.
 
All nine of the New Orleans starters have posted double-digit RBI this season with six players recording 20-plus RBI through 32 games.
 
Following the two midweek games, the Ragin' Cajuns will face Southeastern Louisiana in a three-game non-conference series starting Friday at 6 p.m. Game one of the series will be played at The Tigue, while the final two games will be played in Hammond.
