Women’s Tennis Hosts LSU-Alexandria for Senior Day

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team concludes the 2016 regular season on Wednesday when it plays host to LSU Alexandria in a 5 p.m. match at Cajun Courts.
Admission to the match is free. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com. Prior to the match, Louisiana will honor seniors Juliette Clement and Melissa Burckhartt.
Louisiana (10-9), which will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Tennis Championship next week in New Orleans, picked up a pair of league wins last weekend defeating Texas State and Arkansas State.
Elena Sava finished a perfect 4-0 in combined singles and doubles matches last week in helping the Ragin' Cajuns claim victories on the road. She helped clinch the doubles point for Louisiana in both matches as she teamed with Clement at No. 3 doubles with a 6-4 win against Texas State on Friday followed by a 7-5 win over Arkansas State on Saturday.
Burckhartt has won a team-high nine matches in singles play this season for the Ragin' Cajuns while teaming with Kelly Drew to post a 9-3 record in doubles play. Drew, Abby Johnson and Alexandra Way have each recorded seven wins in singles play for Louisiana with Clement and Sava recording a 10-4 record in doubles.
LSU Alexandria (8-5), ranked No. 22 in the latest NAIA poll, dropped a 7-1 decision at Division II Embry-Riddle in its last match on March 29. The Generals are 1-3 against Division I opponents this season, earning a 6-1 win over Grambling (March 22) and dropping matches against Prairie View (5-2), Sam Houston State (7-0) and Southeastern Louisiana (7-0).
