Women’s Basketball Banquet Scheduled for April 26

Cajuns to honor WBI Championship Team; Louisiana tied program record with 25 wins in 2015-16
LAFAYETTE -- Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball head coach Garry Brodhead and his coaching staff will honor their 2016 WBI championship team at its annual banquet next Tuesday, April 26 at First Baptist Church (1100 Lee Avenue).
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with dinner scheduled for 6:30.
Attendees are encouraged to park in the two parking lots off of Barry Street. Attendees can use the Barry Street 'C' entrance to park. Volunteers will be present to direct all attendees to the designated parking area.
Tickets are $25 per person and are available for advance purchase from the Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball office or at the door. For more information or to RSVP, contact Mary Chris Vogt in the Louisiana women's basketball office at mcvogt@louisiana.edu.
The Ragin' Cajuns completed one of their most successful seasons in program history, advancing to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinals and finishing with a 25-10 record and a second consecutive WBI Tournament Championship. The 25 wins matched a program record. The Cajuns defeated Northwestern State, Stetson, Youngstown State and Weber State to capture the WBI trophy.
Seniors Keke Veal and Kia Wilridge garnered All-Sun Belt Conference Team honors and also earned spots on the All-Louisiana women's basketball team. Brodhead was voted All-Louisiana Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.
The Cajuns won 15 games at home for the second straight season, matching the program record. They finished 12-3 in the Cajundome and won all three contests at Earl K. Long Gymnasium, extending their win streak to 11 games in that venue.
