Louisiana Golf Moves Into Ninth At Sun Belt Championship

DESTIN, Fla. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team moved up two spots into ninth place on Monday after carding a second round score of 1-over par (285) at the par-71, 6,887-yard Raven Golf Course.

The Ragin' Cajuns have an overall score of 17-over (585). Georgia State continues to lead the field with a two-round score of 7-under (561). Arkansas State (-1, 567), Texas State (+1, 569), Troy (+4, 572) and UT Arlington (+7, 575) round out the top 5 teams after day two.

J.J. Grey of Georgia State holds onto the individual lead with a 36-hole score of 7-under (135).

Junior Ragnar Gardarsson recorded a round of 70 (-1) to move up 13 spots into a tie for 19th at 3-over (145). Gardarsson had just two blemished and three birdies on his card in the round.

Senior Haraldur Magnus also sits in a tie for 19th after his round of 72 (+1) in the second round.

Junior Fernando Cruz Valle also had a strong second round carding a score of 68 (-3) to move up 22 spots into a tie for 28th at 5-over (147). Cruz Valle played bogey-free golf over the final 10 holes posting two birdies and an eagle.

Triston Elston is one shot back of Cruz Valle in a tie for 35th at 6-over (148). Paul San bounced back from an opening round 84 to notch a round of 75 (+4) in the second round and finished the day in 53rd at 17-over (159).

The third and final round is slated to get underway at 7:30 a.m. with play staring off of holes one and ten.
