LAFAYETTE, La. – The 19th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to close out the regular season as the squad hosts ULM in a three-game series starting Thursday at 6 p.m. at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
Game two of the series is slated for 6 p.m. on Friday, while the series finale is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Cajuns eight seniors, Nick Thurman, Eric Carter, Brian Mills, Nick Zaunbrecher, Will Bacon, Stefan Trosclair, Derek Herrington and Kyle Clement, will be honored on Saturday as it will be Senior Day. Louisiana will also honor four members of the team, Clement, Carter, Zaunbrecher and Greg Milhorn, with a special graduation ceremony on the field before the series finale.

Louisiana (34-19, 18-9 Sun Belt) enters the series two games back of South Alabama for first place in the conference. The Ragin' Cajuns picked up a strong 17-3 win over New Orleans in seven innings on Tuesday.
The Cajuns have won eight straight series and 11 on the year after taking two of three from the Jaguars last weekend. The squad is also 19-5 at The Tigue this season.
For the second straight weekend, Louisiana will go with the rotation of left-hander Gunner Leger (6-3, 2.22 ERA) followed by right-handers Nick Lee (6-1, 3.00 ERA) and Evan Guillory (4-5, 3.46 ERA). Leger ranks second in the Sun Belt in ERA and has a team-best eight quality starts on the season, while Lee is fourth in opponent's batting average (.208).
The Cajuns have outhit their opponents in nine of their last ten games including the best two offensive performances of the year. As a team, the Ragin' Cajuns are hitting .273 with 101 doubles, eight triples and 34 home runs.
Kyle Clement ranks third in the Sun Belt with a .364 average, while Brian Mills and Brenn Conrad are tied for the team lead in RBI with 34.
The Ragin' Cajuns hold an 82-52 all-time series lead against the Warhawks. Louisiana has won 16 straight meetings with ULM posting a sweep in Monroe, La. a year ago. The Cajuns are 42-18 under head coach Tony Robichaux in the series.
The Warhawks (20-32, 10-17 Sun Belt) have won three of their last five contests despite losing the last two coming into the series. ULM defeated Little Rock 4-1 in the series opener before falling 17-0 and 7-6 to drop the series.
Sophomore right-hander Keegan Curtis (2-2, 4.98 ERA) is scheduled to make the start for the Warhawks in the series open. ULM will counter with right-hander Brayden Bouchey (5-3, 3.43 ERA) on Friday, while a starter for Saturday has yet to be announced.
Offensively, the Warhawks are hitting .230 with 82 doubles, six triples and 28 home runs. Jacob Stockton paces the squad hitting .287 with 11 doubles, six home runs and 31 RBI.
Follow the series with ULM, the Cajuns will head to San Marcos, Texas for the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Tournament starting May 25.
