Leleux Finishes Fourth In Pole Vault At U.S. Olympic Trials

Clears personal-best 15-1; named alternate to US team
EUGENE, Ore. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns All-American Morgann Leleux recorded a personal-best in the pole vault, clearing 15 feet 1 inch, but finished fourth overall on Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field.

Defending gold medalist Jenn Suhr cleared 15-9 to win the competition with Sandi Morris (15-7) finishing second and Arkansas freshman Alexis Weeks (15-5) finishing third to round out the US team that will compete at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Leleux, making her final appearence in a Ragin' Cajuns uniform, was named as an alternate.

Leleux recorded successful jumps of 14-5 ¼ and 14-9 before clearing 15-1 on her second attempt. The New Iberia native missed on three attempts at 15-3.
