LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball begins Sun Belt Conference play this weekend hosting a pair of matches at Earl K. Long Gym.

The Ragin' Cajuns (3-11) welcome the Georgia schools for the start of SBC action. Louisiana faces Georgia State (4-7) on Friday and Georgia Southern (7-8) on Saturday. First serve for both matches is set for 6:30 p.m.

The matches will be streamed live through Ragin' Cajuns All-Access, while live stats will be available at RaginCajuns.com.

The Ragin' Cajuns seek to build upon a 2-1 showing at the Fight Like Hal Memorial last week in Birmingham, which marked the end of tournament play.

Louisiana is back at E.K. Long Gym for the first time since concluding a five-match homestand with a match vs. McNeese on Sept. 6. The squad is hitting .228 and averaging 12.29 kills per set on its home floor this season.

Georgia State is on the road for the fourth time in five weekends. The Panthers are 0-3 on the opposition's home court, falling at James Madison, Belmont and Georgia Tech.

Georgia Southern has posted six of its seven wins in Statesboro. The Eagles are 1-6 away from home, but participated in tough tournaments at Penn State and Alabama.

Pacing the Ragin' Cajuns offense is junior outside hitter Stacey Reilly. She averages 3.53 kills per set and has reached double digits in all but one of 14 matches. Reilly ranks third in the Sun Belt in kills per set and among the Top 40 nationally with 194 total kills. The Houston native is averaging a career-best 3.88 points per set.

Setter Jessica Bartczyszyn is coming off a weekend at UAB in which head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot praised her for "executing the game plan and finding the hot hand when the team needed." Bartczyszyn currently ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference with 9.57 assists per set. Boosted by eight matches of 40-plus assists, the Cary, Ill., native sits inside the nation's Top 20 with 536 total assists.

The Ragin' Cajuns will be shorthanded as Chanelle Gardner (2.69 kills/set, 0.94 blocks/set, .369 attack pct.) has been ruled out due to an injury incurred last Thursday at UAB.

Nia Antoine is expected to be called upon to produce in Gardner's absence. She proved capable of doing so, stepping up with 12 kills, four aces and five blocks vs. UT Martin in the finale at UAB last Friday.

Libero Sydney Davis scooped a career-high tying 27 digs vs. UAB. Davis ranks Top 100 nationally with 204 total digs and has produced double digits 10 times.

The Ragin' Cajuns are opening Sun Belt play at home for the first time since 2014 when the squad faced South Alabama. Louisiana is set to begin its 26th season of competition in the Sun Belt Conference.

With the Sun Belt returning to divisions, this weekend's matches are the lone meeting of the 2016 season between the Ragin' Cajuns of the West Division and Georgia State and Georgia Southern who are members of the East Division.

Milestone Moments
>> Stacey Reilly is six kills away from reaching 200 in a season for the second time in her career. She posted 250 as a freshman in 2014.
>> Chloe Cordell needs three more kills and four more digs to reach 100 in a season – in both categories – for the first time in her career.
>> Nia Antoine is 16 kills shy of establishing a personal single-season best total. Antoine, who produced 81 kills as a freshman in 2015, currently has 66 kills this season.
>> Hanna Rovira, who has posted a personal single-season best 88 kills thus far, needs 12 more kills to reach 100 for the first time in her career.

Coach Mazeitis-Fontenot's Thoughts
"We're coming off a good weekend at UAB, which gives us a lot to build upon as conference play begins.

It was a big step forward to win the fourth set against UAB, which is a very good team, and get past the hurdle of 'we were up two sets to none'. Then the script was flipped against UT Martin, by losing the first set, and we did not panic. They had the 'let's go back to work' mentality, which was nice.

Georgia State and Georgia Southern are beginning to gain their footing. This weekend will be a good test for us."
