Cajuns Close Out FSU Invite With 4-1 Win Over FAMU

Louisiana to open 10-match homestand on Friday
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Freshman Elio Lago earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Florida A&M's Hema Hasona in his collegiate debut at No. 5 singles to help the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team claim a 4-1 victory on Sunday in the final day of the Florida State Invitational at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
Arthur Libaud and Jamie Fraser each earned straight-set victories in singles play while Louisiana (1-2) claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Fraser and Libaud improved to 2-1 on the season as they clinched the doubles point for the Ragin' Cajuns with a 6-4 win at No. 3 over FAMU's Carlyn Small and Jalen Evans. Louisiana took the first doubles match on the No. 1 court as Pearse Dolan and Vlad Kramarov defeated FAMU's Walner Espinoza and Carlos Waitman, 6-2.
Fraser gave Louisiana a 2-0 lead after posting a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Evans at No. 6, before Libaud defeated FAMU's Illya Skoromnyy, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 3.
Louisiana will open a 10-match homestand on Friday when it plays host to Jackson State in a pair of matches at the Culotta Tennis Center. The first match is scheduled for 10 a.m., with the second match set for 2 p.m.
