Bartley, Ragin' Cajuns Earn Sweep Of Little Rock, 88-82

Six players in double figures for Louisiana; withstands furious rally in final four minutes
LAFAYETTE – Frank Bartley's 20 points led six players in double figures and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns withstood a 24-8 run late in the second half to record an 88-82 victory over Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference men's basketball game on Saturday at the Cajundome.
Redshirt freshman Jerekius Davis, making his first career start, scored a career-high 17 points as Louisiana (14-7, 4-4 SBC) began the game on a 26-9 run and sank eight straight free throws in the final 44 seconds to seal the win. The Ragin' Cajuns finished the game 29-for-47 (61.7 percent) from the floor against Little Rock (12-9, 3-5 SBC) and 10-for-20 from behind the 3-point line.
Bryce Washington added 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Ragin' Cajuns, who earned a season-sweep of the Trojans for the second time in three years. Freshman Justin Miller had 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for Louisiana with Jay Wright scoring all 12 points in the second half and Johnathan Stove coming off the bench to add 10.
Louisiana opened up a 45-25 lead at halftime against the Trojans and took its biggest lead of the night, 49-25, when Washington made the first of two free throws with 18:24 remaining. The Ragin' Cajuns led, 80-58, when Davis scored on a jumper with 4:39 remaining before Little Rock mounted a comeback.
Deondre Burns sank three free throws to start a 12-0 run for Little Rock that whittled the Ragin' Cajuns lead to 82-70 with 1:17 remaining. After a pair of free throws by Wright gave Louisiana an 82-70 lead with 44 seconds remaining, Andre Jones and Marcus Johnson, Jr., each drained 3-pointers for Little Rock, but Stove, Miller and Bartley each converted two free throws in the final 30 seconds to ice the game.
Louisiana scored 13 straight points after Johnson's three-point play cut the Ragin' Cajuns lead to 4-3 with 17:03 remaining in the half. Davis, who finished 7-for-10 from the floor and 3-for-6 from behind the 3-point line, scored eight points during the stretch for Louisiana, converting on consecutive 3-pointers that gave the Ragin' Cajuns a 17-3 lead.
The Ragin' Cajuns extended their lead to 29-9 when P.J. Hardy buried a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 7:06 remaining in the first half while Bartley hit two 3-pointers in the final minute of the half for a 20-point lead.
Johnson scored 22 of his game-high 26 points in the second half for Little Rock with Maurius Hill adding 17 and Burns 12. Hill and Stetson Billings pulled down five rebounds each for the Trojans, who forced 21 turnovers and recorded 12 steals.
Louisiana will return to action on Monday when it plays host to Arkansas State in a 7 p.m. contest at the Cajundome.
