Cajuns Return Home To Host App State On Sunday

LAFAYETTE – After three straight road matches, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer team returns to the friendly confines of the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Complex hosting, on Sunday Oct. 15 with the match starting at 1 p.m., the Appalachian State Mountaineers for the first of three home matches to wrap up the 2017 regular season.

Sunday's match against the Mountaineers is the Cajuns' Breast Cancer Awareness Game, all fans are encouraged to wear pink when they attend the game joining the Cajuns in supporting a great cause.

Louisiana looks to snap a four-match winless streak in conference and they enter the weekend with a record of 5-7-2 (2-3-2 SBC). They spent the previous weekend on the road, first the Cajuns made a quick trip north to Monroe to take on ULM where they fell 2-1 to the Warhawks.

The Cajuns then made the trip west to San Marcos, Texas where they faced off against the Texas State Bobcats. Louisiana dropped that match 3-0 to finish off their weekend.

Senior Haley Boroch did score a goal against ULM which was her fourth goal of the season. Those four goals lead the Cajuns in the 2017 season and it's a new career high for goals in a season for Boroch.

Appalachian State enters the weekend at the bottom of the conference standings and their record sits at 2-9-3 (1-4-1 SBC). They played on Friday, Oct. 6 against Georgia Southern in Boone, North Carolina and the Mountaineers dropped a close one 2-1 to the Eagles for their only match of the weekend.

Before coming to Lafayette, they'll make a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas to take on the Trojans on Friday, Oct. 13 giving them two matches on the weekend.
