Battle On The Bayou Adjusted Due To Incoming Storm

10/6/2017 8:49:00 AM | Men's Tennis

LAFAYETTE – Due to the incoming Tropical Storm Nate, the second annual Battle on the Bayou has been rescheduled to a one day tournament, with both flights of singles and main draw doubles being played and finished throughout the day so that the visiting teams can get home safely.

The changes to the tournament are not just the times, with singles starting at 8:30 a.m. and going through the day.  The rules of the matches have been adjusted as well, instead of the normal best two out of three sets that are played the matches will be played in a eight game pro set format.

Essentially that means that each match will be a one set affair, with the first to win eight games taking the match.  The tiebreakers will be played at seven all instead of the traditional six all breaker that's played during best two out of three sets.

All the seeds have remained the same, but consolation doubles have been dropped from the event as well.

Follow @RaginCajunsMT for updates through the day and any other changes to the event going forward.
