Troxler Paces Cajuns On Day Two Of Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate

COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns junior golfer Colin Troxler bounced back from a slow start in the first round to post his first career round under par on Monday at the Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate held at the par-72, 7,368-yard The Grove Club Golf Course.

As a team, Louisiana sits in a tie for ninth place with conference foe Troy at 27-over par (603) through two rounds. The Ragin' Cajuns are 13 strokes back of Liberty for fifth place.

Ole Miss holds on to slight edge over Georgia Tech after 36 holes with an overall score of 4-under (572). The Yellow Jackets used a tournament-low round of 12-under on the day to go into the final round one stroke back of the Rebels.

Braden Thornberry of Ole Miss sits atop the individual leaderboard after two rounds with a score of 5-under par (139).

Sliman's Thoughts

"I'm glad to see some heart in the team today, yet this is not where we want to be as a team. This is an inexperienced group that is learning every week. The Grove is a very demanding golf course that requires discipline and mental toughness. We fully expect the guys to apply the lessons learned to tomorrow's final round. Apart from the top three teams, it's a tight leaderboard with some very good teams in reach. A full effort tomorrow will go a long way."

Troxler Cards Round Under Par

Junior Colin Troxler bounced back from a round of 78 (+6) in the first round to card a 71 (-1) on Monday and move up 10 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 25th. Troxler had four birdies on the day including two in his final six holes.

Gudjonsson Aces Hole Three

Freshman Bjorn Gudjonsson became the second Ragin' Cajuns player this season to tally an eagle joining fellow freshman Justin Caldwell after posting a hole-in-one on hole three. Gudjonsson saw his 4-iron shot land 10 feet left of the 220-yard hole and then slowly make its way down into the hole for his first career ace.
