LAFAYETTE – Today the Louisiana's women's tennis team signed one player to a National Letter of Intent, as Hoda Habib, ranked in Texas' top 25, has signed her letter of intent to join the Ragin' Cajuns roster for the 2018 fall season.
          Â
Habib, who's five feet eight inches tall, comes from Houston, Texas and has competed in International Tennis Federation tournaments through the summer and she brings in a career high ITF ranking of 579. She's qualified for the Indoor Asian Olympic Games and she was a Tehran ITF finalist in singles and doubles.
She'll bring with her to the Cajuns a will to win and a mentality and toughness that the Cajuns and head coach Stephanie Vallejos, ask their players to bring with them when they take the courts in a Cajuns uniform.
QUOTEWORTHY: (Head coach Stephanie Vallejos):
On Habib: "Hoda is going to be a great fit for our team and I'm confident she will be able to make an impact right away. She spent time competing in ITF tournaments over the summer and proved in her ranking that she can be a tough competitor. She is focused and has a passion to compete, which is what we are searching for."
