Flynn has been a part of two state championships at Byrd HS and finished fourth last year at the All-State Sugar Bowl LHSAA State Golf Championships. He joins Hudson Dubinksi, the No.1 player from Missouri, on the signing class for the 2018-19 season.

Sliman on Charlie Flynn

"We are extremely excited and proud to have Charlie join our program. His talent, work ethic and character is exactly what we want representing our program. It has been fun and exciting recruiting Charlie over the past three years and watching him grow as a player and as a young man. Charlie certainly has accomplished a lot as a junior golfer as he comes in as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Louisiana and is in every major ranking. He is a player that will just continue to develop over the next four years with a very high ceiling ahead. Charlie has played a strong national schedule that is extremely competitive and has posted multiple rounds under par. He is a very mature golfer with an abundance of competitive knowledge that we are anxious to have on campus for the 2018-19 season."

Flynn on Sliman

"Simply put, Coach Theo Sliman is an awesome ambassador for both Louisiana and the Ragin' Cajuns golf program.  Coach Theo's passion for Louisiana golf and his total support of his players are the two things that impressed me most throughout my recruiting process.  Listening to Coach Sliman talk about his father, who also coached the Cajun golf team, it is apparent that he is dedicated to putting Ragin' Cajuns golf on the national stage, and I want to be a part of that.  Since the first day he started to recruit me, Coach Theo has encouraged me to enjoy the recruiting process and to thoroughly explore all of my options before making a final decision.  Having done exactly that, I am confident in my decision to play golf at Louisiana.  The dedication and drive coach has to be one of the very best is something I admire tremendously about him.  It will be an honor to be coached by him."

Flynn on facility/program

"The golf and training facilities at Louisiana are absolutely fantastic.  The newly completed team clubhouse at Oakbourne Country Club, with locker rooms, indoor hitting bays and a study room, puts Louisiana on par with the finest college facilities in the nation. The support that the people down in Lafayette give the golf team is amazing. To have such a dedicated and generous support group says a lot about a program.  I can't wait to get down there and be a part of such an amazing program. Although the Ragin' Cajuns golf team is young this year, coach has assembled a great group of talented players in Lafayette.  With these guys and the signing of Hudson Dubinski, Missouri's number one 2018 recruit, I am excited about the future of Louisiana golf. I look forward to doing my part to help Coach Theo and the team build a nationally recognized golf program at Louisiana."
