JONESBORO, ARK. – Third-seeded Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball is set to face No. 7 seed Appalachian State at 5 p.m., on Friday in its opening contest at the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Tournament inside First National Bank Arena on the campus of Arkansas State University.

The Ragin' Cajuns (20-10) received a bye into the matchup which comes in the quarterfinal round of the tournament. The Mountaineers (12-19) defeated UTA in five sets during Thursday's opening round to advance and meet Louisiana.

The winner advances to Saturday's 5 p.m. semifinal match against No. 2 seed Texas State (23-8).

The Ragin' Cajuns won the lone matchup this season with the Mountaineers, claiming a 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) win at Earl K. Long Gym. Louisiana out-blocked the visitors that night by a 12-2 margin and forced them into 27 total attack errors in the match.

Louisiana is appearing in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament for the first time since 2014 and seeks its first win in the event since 2000. It's the first time facing the Mountaineers in the SBC's postseason event.
