LAFAYETTE – The Ragin' Cajuns will wrap up their 2017-18 exhibition season with one last game on Saturday, Nov. 4 as they'll host the Xavier University of Louisiana Gold Nuggets at the Cajundome with tip scheduled for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Louisiana won their first exhibition game of the season with a great second half performance that lead to an 86-48 dismantling of LSU-Alexandria on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

The Cajuns were lead in scoring by redshirt freshman Danyale Bayonne, who coming off the bench, scored 16 points for Louisiana.  But she wasn't alone in the double digit scoring fest, as three other Cajuns finished in double digits.

Seniors Simone Fields (14 points) and Troi Swain (10 points) were joined by freshman Skyler Goodwin's 13 points that when included with Bayonne's performance gave the Cajuns four women scoring in double digits on the night.

Fields added nine rebounds to give the Cajuns 42 on the night and they outrebounded LSUA 17-7 on the offensive side to go along with the Cajuns causing 30 turnovers on 13 steals to help fuel their great second half.

CAJUNS GO GOLD MINING: The Cajuns final game is against a Xavier team that's already played two games this season.  The Gold Nuggets lost to Loyola (N.O.) 76-45 on Oct. 26 and Southeastern (Fla.) 60-39 on Oct. 29.  So, Xavier enters the game 0-2 on their regular season, although this game won't count towards either team's records.

RAGIN' CAJUNS HONORED: This week the 2017-18 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Poll came out and the Cajuns were selected to finish fourth in the conference.  Fields was named to the Preseason All-Conference First Team and her teammate sophomore Jasmine Thomas was voted onto the third team to give the Cajuns two preseason honors.

CAJUNS IN THE PRESEASON WNIT: Next weekend the Cajuns will take the court in their regular season and home opener when they face off against New Orleans on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m., in the first round of the Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament in the Cajundome.

The Cajuns are slated to face either Houston or Texas A&M in the next round depending on the results in the Cajuns game and the game between the Cougars and the Aggies.

ADDMISSION NOTE: Much like their first exhibition game, Saturday's game is free of charge to attend and parking is first come first serve with no charge included.
