LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf head coach Theo Sliman announced the signing of Hudson Dubinski to a National Letter of Intent for the 2018-19 Season on Thursday.
Dubinski, a native of Columbia, Mo., is a three-time All-State selection at Rock Bridge High School. He finished second in the state as a freshman helping guide Rock Bridge to a state championship. Dubinski also notched a top 5 finish as a junior in the Missouri state tournament.
Dubinski comes in as the No. 1 ranked recruit in Missouri and has competed in some of the top junior events around the country including numerous AJGA tournaments, the USGA Boys Junior Amateur Championship and the Bubba Conlee National Junior Golf Tournament.
This year, Dubinski placed third in the Midwest Junior Championship, while also carding a career low 66 (-4) at the 37th annual Bubba Conlee National Junior Golf Tournament. Dubinski became the youngest person to claim the Columbia City Championship in 2016 and defended his title in 2017. He has also qualified for 2017 US Junior Am at Oakbourne Country Club, home of the Louisiana golf program.
Sliman on Hudson Dubinski
"Very excited to have Hudson join our program. Through the recruiting process, I picked up immediately the type of character and coachability Hudson brings. He was an absolute joy to recruit. He is the epitome of what we look for in a student-athlete. He excels both on the course and in the classroom. Hudson comes from a strong athletic family with three older brothers who have competed in collegiate athletics. He has already shown the type of caliber player he is with a No. 1 ranking in the state of Missouri as well as competing on a national level in several well-respected events. Hudson has a very mature golf IQ and is a gritty competitor. Those two coupled are what is needed for a person to be a strong collegiate golfer. I am very anxious to get Hudson on campus for the 2018-19 season."
Dubinski on Sliman
"First, I would like to thank coach Sliman for everything he has done in preparation for National Signing Day. He welcomed me with open arms from the first day we talked on the phone, and has been just as supportive since. It is easy to tell how well liked he is in Lafayette, and how committed he is to making the golf program at Louisiana as successful as possible. Coach Sliman's golf knowledge is certainly valuable, but I truly believe he is an even better person."
Hudson on the program/facility
"I think back to the first time I visited Lafayette this summer, and how each and every person, coach and I passed had something nice to say about the program and wished me good luck. The culture and family at Louisiana is something I cannot wait to be a part of. Lastly, the facilities I saw were immaculate. The student-athletic performance center and the golf training facility are great advantages, and are kept in pristine shape. I am truly excited to be a Ragin' Cajun, and cannot wait to get back down to Lafayette!"
