Louisiana set to open SBC play against longtime rival Trojans

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team officially opens its 18-game Sun Belt Conference schedule on Friday when it visits Little Rock at Jack Stephens Center.
 
Tipoff, which will follow the Louisiana-Little Rock women's game, is set for approximately 7:15 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM and ESPN 1420 AM, and is also available worldwide on the ESPN 1420 app. The game will also be streamed on-line, courtesy of Little Rock All-Access, at RaginCajuns.com.
 
Louisiana (10-3, 0-0 SBC) returns to the court for the first time since closing out its non-conference schedule on Dec. 22 at Clemson. During the non-conference schedule, the Ragin' Cajuns posted the league's best record and enter the SBC opener against Little Rock (3-10, 0-0 SBC) ranked 20th in the nation in scoring offense (86.4) and 19th in assists per game (18.2).

• The Trojans have been on the short end of a pair of two-point losses during the 2017-18 season - an 81-79 season-opening loss to Ouachita Baptist and a 57-55 loss at Sam Houston State.
• Andre Jones has averaged a team-best 11.3 points for Little Rock with Ryan Pippins averaging 10.5 points in the Trojans' last two games. Oliver Black leads Little Rock on the boards, averaging 7.8 per contest.
• The Trojans have won all three games this season within the Jack Stephens Center, recording victories over Norfolk State, in-state rival Central Arkansas and the University of the Ozarks.
