Fields Named Sun Belt Player Of The Week

NEW ORLEANS - Louisiana junior forward Simone Fields was named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week in a release by the conference office on Monday.
Fields led Louisiana (14-8, 8-5 SBC) with a game-high 24 points while shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the floor in an 80-72 win over Troy on Saturday. She shot 4-for-6 (.667) from the free throw line. Fields added five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Fields scored 14 points in a 62-38 win over South Alabama on Thursday. She shot 6-for-13 (.462) from the floor and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Fields added five rebounds and one assist in the win.
Fields is currently ranked third in the SBC in points per game (15.3) and third in field goal percentage (.564).
Louisiana will return to action when it travels to face ULM on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 12 p.m. in Monroe, La.
