Ragin' Cajuns Set To Battle Warhawks On The Road

Monroe, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team hits the road to take on rival ULM on Saturday at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and can be heard in the Lafayette area on KROF 960 AM, along with on the internet via the Radio Pup app.

Louisiana (14-8, 8-5 SBC) is on a three-game winning streak and head coach Garry Brodhead needs one win in order to pass J. Kelley Hall (2002-2007) for the most wins in program history (86).

ULM (5-19, 2-11 SBC) has lost four straight games and is looking to avenge a 67-57 defeat to the Cajuns on Jan. 7, 2017 in Lafayette.

Louisiana is led in scoring by senior guard Jaylyn Gordon (18.5 ppg). Gordon leads the Sun Belt Conference in points per game, three-point field goals made per game (2.9) and minutes played per game (38.6).
Junior Simone Fields, who was named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week, is third in the league in scoring (15.3 ppg) and third in field goal percentage (.564). Freshman Jasmine Thomas (9.7 ppg), junior Troi Swain (9.0 ppg), junior Nekia Jones (6.1 ppg) and senior Gabby Alexander (5.5 ppg) are all key contributors for the Cajuns.
ULM is led in scoring by junior guard Alexis Collins (12.4 ppg). Collins is second in the SBC in assists (3.9). Junior Gabriella Cortez (10.2 ppg) and freshman Carissa Moody (7.6 ppg) also lead the Warhawks in scoring.
The Cajuns are currently one game back of Texas State for the fourth spot and final bye that is given for the Sun Belt Conference tournament in March.
