Ragin' Cajuns Wrap Up Homestand Against Islanders

Louisiana looks to improve to 9-1 at home.
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team wraps up a 10-match home stand on Friday when it plays host to Southland Conference member Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at Cajun Courts.

First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Admission to all Ragin' Cajuns tennis matches is free. Live scoring will be available at www.CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (9-3), which will travel for matches next week at UT Rio Grande Valley and the H-E-B Tournament of Champions, rallied in singles play in its last match against UTSA and recording a 4-2 victory. Arthur Libaud and Vlad Kramarov each secured straight-set victories for the Ragin' Cajuns with Coleman Wahlborg clinching the match with a three-set win at No. 5 singles.

Libaud has posted a 7-3 record in singles play in dual matches to lead Louisiana with Eric Perez recording a 6-3 record. Jamie Fraser, who has won five straight matches in singles play, is 5-2 on the season for the Ragin' Cajuns with Kramarov (4-1), Elio Lago (4-1) and Pearse Dolan (4-2) next in total wins.

Fraser and Libaud have paced Louisiana in doubles play, winning eight straight matches and posting an 8-1 overall mark.

A&M-Corpus Christi (4-3) dropped a 4-1 match to Wichita State on Thursday, claiming the doubles point with wins on Courts No. 1 and 2. Kevin Bettendroffer and William Mottet knocked off Wichita State's top pair of Eddie Stoica and Haru Inoue by a 7-5 score. Meanwhile, Cagatay Soke and Paul Cook claimed a 6-3 victory on court two to give the Islanders the early advantage.
