Louisiana Returns To The Court To Face SBC Foe Georgia State

Cajuns look to extend win streak against rival Panthers
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team returns to action on Friday when it face Sun Belt Conference opponent Georgia State at Cajun Courts.

Louisiana (8-2) returns to the court after extending its winning streak to eight matches last week with a 4-0 victory over Incarnate Word. The Ragin' Cajuns moved to 7-0 at home on the season as Arthur Libaud, Eric Perez and Elio Lago each picked up straight-set victories in singles play.

Jamie Fraser and Libaud started doubles off with a 6-3 win over UIW's Ivanhoe Lissanevitch and Joey Vatandilok before Coleman Wahlborg and Perez gave Louisiana a 1-0 lead after earning a 6-4 win over Sebastian Mortier and Francisco Bendana at No. 1.

Libaud has posted a 6-2 record in singles play during the spring for Louisiana, including a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles. Perez has solidified the bottom of the lineup, winning his last six matches and posting a 6-1 record.

Pearse Dolan has posted a 4-0 record for Louisiana with Fraser and Lago each recording a 4-0 mark in dual matches this season.

Georgia State (5-4), which earlier beat No. 27 Florida State, split a pair of matches last week, defeating North Florida on Saturday before a 7-0 loss to No. 28 South Carolina. All four losses for the Panthers have come from Power-5 opponents, and three have come from ranked teams.

Zackery Kennedy leads GSU in singles play, going 3-3 at the No. 1 spot and 2-1 at the No. 2 spot. Kennedy has defeated ranked opponents and athletes from ranked teams on his way to earn a No. 85 ITA ranking.

Sebastian Acuna and Andrei Andrukhou are also top competitors on the team, with Acuna going 4-3 and Andrukhou going 4-1. The pair also compete together in doubles, going 4-3 at the No. 2 spot.
