Women's Hoops To Face Little Rock In SBC Semifinals

NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team faces top-seeded Little Rock in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Saturday at Lakefront Arena.

Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and can be heard in the Lafayette area on ESPN 1420 AM, along with on the internet via the Radio Pup app. Live statistics are available at RaginCajuns.com.

No. 5-seeded Louisiana (19-10, 11-7 SBC) is coming off a thrilling 66-64 win over No. 4-seeded Texas State in the quarterfinals on Thursday while Little Rock is fresh off a 69-53 win over Appalachian State in the quarterfinals.

Little Rock (24-7, 17-1 SBC) leads Louisiana 21-9 in the all-time series. The Trojans won both of this season's contests with the Cajuns. In the last meeting, Little Rock defeated Louisiana 82-64 on Jan. 28, 2017 in Lafayette.

Louisiana is led in scoring by senior guard Jaylyn Gordon (17.9 ppg). Gordon leads the Sun Belt Conference in points per game, three-point field goals made per game (2.6) and minutes played per game (38.5).

Junior Simone Fields is averaging 14.6 ppg while junior Troi Swain (9.7 ppg), freshman Jasmine Thomas (8.9 ppg), junior Nekia Jones (7.7 ppg) and senior Gabby Alexander (5.8 ppg) are all key contributors for the Cajuns.
