Promotions Set for Sun Belt Opening Series With UTA

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball opens Sun Belt Conference play Saturday-Sunday, March 18-19 at Lamson Park hosting UTA with a themed promotion planned for each day of the series.

The Ragin' Cajuns (17-5, 0-0 Sun Belt) and Mavericks (15-10, 2-1 Sun Belt) will play a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and 1 p.m. single game on Sunday.

Saturday is Lafayette General Health Day. LGH staff will have door prizes, provide health tips and conduct free screenings at booths located in the main concourse. Members of the LGH staff will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch for both games.

Sunday's theme is "Super Sunday" with the Ragin' Cajuns celebrating local superheroes, focusing on health professionals and first responders, and super seniors ages 55 and over.
Â
Doctors, nurses, firefighters, police officers and EMT professionals with proper identification will receive half-priced general admission tickets to Sunday's single game.

A buy one, get one free general admission ticket offer will be available for senior citizens ages 55 and over on Sunday. A $6 concession package consisting of a hot dog, chips and small drink is also being offered as part of the promotion for senior citizens.

The series with UTA brings to a close what will be a season-opening, 25-game homestand for the Ragin' Cajuns. After the weekend, the next opportunity to catch the team in action at Lamson Park is April 8-9 vs. Troy.
