Cajuns Hosting Spring Tournament Saturday at E.K. Long

Matches begin at 9 a.m.; event is free and open to the public
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball is set to take the court at Earl K. Long Gym on UL Lafayette's main campus on Saturday, March 18 as the program hosts its annual spring tournament.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Matches will begin at 9 a.m.
The Ragin' Cajuns welcome Louisiana Tech, Nicholls, Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana for the round robin format event.
There will be two courts with a new match occurring each hour over the course of the day. All matches will be timed using a running 45-minute clock.
Ragin' Cajuns fans have an opportunity to watch the team play in either the morning or afternoon.
Louisiana begins the day at 9 a.m. against Nicholls, immediately followed by a 10 a.m. matchup with Louisiana Tech. Both matches will be on Court 1.
After a mid-day break, the Ragin' Cajuns will return to Court 1 for a pair of afternoon contests. The squad faces Northwestern State at 12:30 p.m., then wraps up tournament play at 2 p.m. with Southeastern Louisiana.
This weekend's event represents the first playing date for the Ragin' Cajuns in the spring 2017 non-championship segment. Louisiana is also scheduled to travel to Houston for two tournaments: one at the University of Houston on March 24 and another at the F.A.S.T. Complex on April 8.
The Ragin' Cajuns are currently preparing the 2017 season which will mark the 10th season under the guidance of Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot. Louisiana returns its kills leader (Stacey Reilly), starting setter (Jessica Bartczyszyn) and digs leader (Sydney Davis) from the 2016 season.
