Cajuns Continue Spring Play With Houston Tournament

Louisiana has matches scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday at UH's Athletics/Alumni Center
HOUSTON – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball continues spring tournament action on Friday, March 24 in the Houston Tournament being held at the University of Houston's Athletics/Alumni Center.
The Ragin' Cajuns will face San Jacinto College and Houston in the round robin event. The matches will be three sets in a 25-25-15-point format.
Admission for the event is free and open to the public. The Athletics/Alumni Center is located at 3100 Cullen Blvd., on the UH campus.
Louisiana starts play in the tournament against San Jacinto with first serve at 6 p.m., then faces host-Houston in the finale at 7 p.m.
Friday's event is the second playing date for the Ragin' Cajuns in the spring 2017 non-championship segment. Last weekend the squad hosted a tournament at Earl K. Long Gym and took in four matches against in-state foes.
Louisiana is scheduled to make another trip to Houston in two weeks to participate in the 7th Annual F.A.S.T. Complex Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, April 8.
The Ragin' Cajuns are building toward the 2017 season which will mark the 10th season under the guidance of Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot. Louisiana returns its kills leader (Stacey Reilly), starting setter (Jessica Bartczyszyn) and digs leader (Sydney Davis) from the 2016 season.
