NEW ORLEANS, La. – The 15th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to go back on the road Tuesday as the squad heads to Turchin Stadium to face Tulane in a 6:30 p.m. midweek contest.

This past Sunday night, the Astros announced the field for the 2018 Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic, which will feature the Houston, Sam Houston State and Louisiana and three Southeastern Conference programs in Kentucky, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. The 18th annual tournament will feature nine games at Minute Maid Park from March 2-4, 2018.

The Ragin' Cajuns (6-4) are coming off of a 3-1 week that included a series win over Southern Miss. Louisiana opened the weekend with a 3-1 victory on Friday before clinching the series on Saturday taking a 5-4 decision over the Golden Eagles. The Cajuns saw their bid for the season's first sweep come up short as the squad fell 15-11 in 11 innings.

Louisiana moved up one spot in both the Baseball America top 25 and the D1Baseball rankings coming in at No. 15 this week.

Sophomore left-hander Hogan Harris (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will make his second start of the season for the Cajuns against Tulane. Harris tossed five hitless innings with eight strikeouts in his first start last week at Northwestern State in a no decision.

The Green Wave (3-8) will tab freshman right-hander Chase Solesky (0-0, 1.54 ERA) to make his third start of the year on Tuesday. The Fort Pierce, Fla., native allowed just one run in 4.2 innings of work at Southern Miss last week.

Offensively, the Ragin' Cajuns have come alive posting double-digit hits in five of the last six contests including a season-high 16 hits in the series finale against Southern Miss. Freshman Todd Lott paces Louisiana at the plate hitting .394 with two doubles, a home run and eight RBI. Senior Alex Pinero is second on the squad with a .385 average and a team-best four doubles and nine RBI. Pinero carries a nine-game hit streak into the matchup with the Green Wave.

The Cajuns hold a narrow 46-43 lead in the all-time series with Tulane after splitting a pair of games a year ago. In the last meeting, the Ragin' Cajuns jumped out to an early 7-0 and went on to win 9-2 at The "Tigue". The Cajuns are 14-17 against the Green Wave with head coach Tony Robichaux at the helm including a 6-10 mark in New Orleans.

Tulane is coming off of a series win over West Virginia that snapped a seven-game skid. The Green Wave won a narrow 9-8 victory in the series opener before shutting out the Mountaineers 6-0 on Saturday. Tulane gave up a season-high runs in the final game of the series falling 18-5.

The Green Wave are hitting .232 as a team with 15 doubles, a triple and 12 home runs. Sophomore Grant Weatherspoon leads the team with .439 average, two doubles, one home run and three RBI. Jarret DeHart has a team-best three homers and 13 RBI despite hitting just .256.

Following the midweek matchup with Tulane, the Cajuns return to M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park for a three-game series against Saint Peter's starting Friday at 6 p.m.
