Â
MESA, Ariz. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf signee Colin Troxler won the NJCAA Division II Individual Championship with a four-round score of 2-under par (282) last week at the par-71, 7,050-yard Longbow Golf Club.
Â
"Very proud of Colin to finish off his junior college career on a strong note," head coach Theo Sliman said. "He has steadily improved over his four semesters at Mississippi Gulf Coast culminating in a national title. He is someone we are going to lean on a lot over the next two years as he comes in with numerous tournament titles and a lot of experience. I am anxious to get him on campus come August and expect a quick transition to the Division I level."
Â
Troxler posted three straight rounds under par to open the event winning the title by four strokes while helping guide Mississippi Gulf Coast to a second-place finish at the NJCAA Division II Championship.
Â
A native of Luling, La., Troxler earned Ping All-American and NJCAA All-American honors as well as the Arnold Palmer Trophy after winning the national title. Troxler also earned NJCAA Division II PING Second Team All-American honors in his freshman season.
Â
Troxler and fellow signee Justin Caldwell join the squad this fall as the Cajuns open the season in September at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
