Cajuns Men's Tennis Heads To Southern Miss. Invite

LAFAYETTE – This weekend the Louisiana men's tennis team will make the trip east to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to take part in the Southern Miss. Invitational starting on Friday, Sept. 29 and ending on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The invitational will have a dual-match format and the Cajuns will be taking on three different schools through the weekend. On Friday, they'll start with singles at 10 a.m. with South Alabama, who's going to be paired up with William Carey.

At 2 p.m. the Cajuns will take on the University of Alabama at Birmingham followed by doubles starting at 4p.m. where they'll take on Southern Miss. to wrap up the day.

On Saturday, the Cajuns will return to the court with singles starting at 10 a.m. where they'll take on Southern Miss before two rounds of double starting at 11 a.m. First, they'll face South Alabama, again paired with William Carey, before finishing up the weekend's events taking on UAB, at noon, in the final doubles match of the day.

The Cajuns hosted the John Breaux Cajuns Tennis Classic the previous weekend where sophomore Jamie Fraser upset the flight one number four seeded player, followed up by freshman Dominik Koenig recorded the first win of his career in the back draw of flight two.

Louisiana will return to Lafayette the next weekend, Oct. 6-7, to host the Battle on the Bayou which will take place at Cajun Courts. Follow @RaginCajunsMT for updates and recaps following each days action.
