Sliman's Thoughts
Â
"Disappointing day today to see us backup after a good first round. The conditions were difficult, but that is no excuse. We should expect to thrive in the more difficult conditions. We do have a bit of an inexperienced group with a number of our players lacking DI experience. I expect the guys to learn and apply going into tomorrow.
Â
"I look to see how Triston (Elston) handles being in the hunt for a Top 5 finish. Also, I was glad to see the freshman Justin Caldwell bounce back from a bad first round to post a 75 today, and if not for a couple mishaps could have had a round under par."
Â
Elston Looking For Top 5 Finish
Â
Junior Triston Elston finished the day in a tie for fourth at 2-under (142). Elston has one top 10 finish in his career with a seventh place finish at the Grove Intercollegiate in 2015.
Â
Caldwell Cards Eagle
Â
After a rough first round in his debut, freshman Justin Caldwell bounced back to post the Ragin' Cajuns first eagle of the season on hole nine in his second round of the Louisville Cardinal Classic. Caldwell finished the day with a round of 75 (+3) and moved up the leaderboard 12 spots.
