Sophomore captured fourth individual title in 2017 debut at UNO

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns runner Stanley Limoh claimed the Sun Belt Conference's first weekly honors of the 2017 season when he was named on Tuesday as the league's Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Limoh, a sophomore from Kapsabet, Kenya, opened the 2017 season for the Ragin' Cajuns by claiming the individual title at the season-opening New Orleans Invitational last Friday. Limoh posted a time of 15:25.95 on the 5K course and led a trio of Ragin' Cajuns runners to top-5 finishes and the team title.

The individual title was the fourth in eight races for Limoh, who finished second overall at last year's Sun Belt Conference Championships and became the first Ragin' Cajun runner to compete at the NCAA Championships since 1971.

Louisiana, ranked No. 11 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region, will return to action on Friday when it travels to Mobile, Ala., to compete in the Azalea City Classic at the Mobile County Fairgrounds.
