Louisiana part of 14-team field in second indoor meet of the season
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field is set to compete in its second indoor meet of the season on Friday when it travels to College Station, Texas to compete in the Ted Nelson Invitational at the Gilliam Indoor Track and Field Stadium.

Events in the scoring meet begin at 12 p.m. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com.

Louisiana, which opened its season last week at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational, is part of a field that includes Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Northwestern State, Prairie View, Sam Houston State, UT Rio Grande Valley, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas Southern and ULM.

Four Cajuns posted performances that ranked in the top-40 nationally with Jeryl Brazil posting a time of 6.71 in the 60-meter dash to rank ninth heading into the meet. Kyle Baudoin enters the meet ranked 13th nationally in the men's pole vault (16-8 ¾) with Tisay Woodhouse ranked 28th in the women's weight throw (60-10) and Tyler Hughes 38th in the men's 60-meter hurdles (8.16).

Jacob Chicola (men's 1-mile run), Anthony Taylor (men's shot put) and Richard Delphin (men's weight throw) each posted the third-best performances in their respective events among Sun Belt Conference athletes for the Ragin' Cajuns. Chicola captured the 1-mile run at the LSU Purple Tiger, leading wire-to-wire and recording a time of 4:31.97.

Taylor placed second overall in the shot put (51-11 ¼) in his Ragin' Cajuns debut with Delphin, ranked No. 67 nationally in the weight throw, finishing second overall at 57-5 ½.
