Gudjonsson Paces Cajuns After Day One Of Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. - Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns freshman golfer Bjorn Gudjonsson had a strong showing on the first day of the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate before play was suspended on Monday in the second round at the par 72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
"It's good to finally get back on the course after taking over three months off," head coach Theo Sliman said. "Really pleased with the determination and toughness that Bjorn showed today. He didn't let the conditions affect his game and came out and put together a couple solid rounds before play was suspended. We are going to need a complete team effort tomorrow if we want to move up a very tight leaderboard."
After the first round, the Ragin' Cajuns are in a tie for tenth place with Richmond with an overall score of 12-over par (300). No. 29 Florida State leads the event with a score of 8-under.
Individually, Jamie Li of Florida State sits atop the leaderboard after posting a 68 (-4) in the first round.
Gudjonsson Gets Off To Hot Start
Through 18 holes, true freshman Bjorn Gudjonsson is eying his first career top 25 finish as he sits in a tie for 18th at 1-over par (73). Gudjonsson posted a birdie on hole 16 and had just two blemishes on his card in the first round.
Elston In Top 25
Junior Tristan Elston found himself in the top 25 after the first round in a tie for 24th at 2-over (74). The Baton Rouge, La., native had a team-best four birdies on the day.
Final Round Pairings
Louisiana is paired with Oral Roberts, Central Arkansas and Abilene Christian for the final day of the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate.
