Indoor Track Preview: at Sun Belt Indoor Championships

Two-day event begins Monday in Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team will look to contend for a conference championship when both the men's and women's teams compete at the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, scheduled to begin on Monday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

The championships begin at 9 a.m. on Monday with the combined events, beginning with the heptathlon. Field events begin at 12 p.m. with running events starting at 4:15 p.m.

The final day of the two-day event begins on Tuesday with the completion of the heptathlon events at 9 a.m. followed by pentathlon at 9:20. Field events begin at 12 p.m. with the final running events starting at 1:45 p.m. The awards presentation is scheduled to begin at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Live coverage on ESPN3 is slated to begin at 4 p.m. on Monday and 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Links for the ESPN3 broadcast and live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com.

Jeryl Brazil, ranked No. 2 nationally in the men's 60-meter dash (6.55), leads a Ragin' Cajuns men's squad that finished third overall at the 2017 SBC Indoors. Beau Robinson, who posted the second-fastest time in the men's 5,000-meter run (15:08.54) will look to contend for a conference title for Louisiana with Tyler Hughes (60-meter hurdles), Kemondrick Walter (200-meters) and Stanley Limoh (800- and 3,000-meters) all ranked in the top eight on the Sun Belt Conference Performance List.

Multi athletes Sven Glueck and Chandler Mixon posted the third and fourth-best marks among SBC athletes this season for Louisiana with Kyle Baudoin, ranked 3 in SBC and No. 55 nationally in the pole vault (16-8 ¾), leading a group of Ragin' Cajuns field athletes.

Richard Delphin and Dominique Williams, ranked fourth and seventh overall in the men's weight throw, will look to contend for All-SBC honors in their respective events with newcomer Shaquille Singuineau ranked sixth on the SBC list in the shot put and freshman Kameron Cummings ranked seventh in the triple jump.

Tisay Woodhouse, ranked No. 2 in the SBC in the women's weight throw, will look to continue a record-breaking season for Louisiana after posting three throws of over 60 feet, including a school-record 61-5 ¾ set last month.

Multi-athletes Juliette Smith and Alex Morrow enter the pentathlon ranked third and sixth, respectively, for Louisiana with Courtney Musgrove ranked seventh in the women's 3,000-meter run and Lindsay LaGarde eighth in the mile run.
